After-School Care – Providence Children’s Academy

We at Providence Children’s Academy believe that the ideal after-school care is centered around the holistic development of your child – we are dedicated to your child’s physical, personal, social, and emotional wellbeing, not only focusing on the sole aspect of education. Because of this, we have gone the extra mile to provide an after-school care program where your children will be taken care of as if they were in their own home.

Here are some of the core elements of our after-school care program:

• Our Staff
  Our teachers are passionate, positive and qualified in teaching, early childhood behavior, and first aid. We are proud to provide you and your child with an environment that is safe, fun and stimulating. Our staff are dedicated to investing individualized time in your child. Our teachers strive to provide the best guidance for your child not only academically, but also in the development of other aspects of their lives.

• Free pick-up
  We offer a free pick-up service from the surrounding schools – our drivers are dedicated to providing a transportation system that is safe and secure.

• Homework assistance
  At Providence Children’s Academy, we believe that every child is unique and learns in their own way. As a result, we are dedicated to helping your child with their homework and teaching them in a way that is best suited to their educational needs.

• Daily extra-curricular activities
  We have carefully designed a well-run after-school program which involves a combination of homework assistance, play and hands-on activities. Our program will keep your child mentally stimulated and actively engaged in the activities we have planned for them. While we do believe in the advancement of the academic education of your child, we are also firm believers in educating them with hands-on activities such as cooking, technology and science. With this, they can explore other activities, hobbies and skills in a nurturing environment that inspires exploration and development.

• Playground time
  It is important to have properly planned and well-structured days, but we don’t want your children to feel as if this is an extension of their school day or extra lessons that they’re taking. Because of this, we have specifically designed our programs to consist of time dedicated to doing homework, but also have time dedicated to play. Play time is very important and helps the development of social and emotional behaviors, as well as physical and cognitive development. There will be both structured play, where we teach your children the skills of following instructions and playing with others in a fun and interactive way, but we also encourage free play. This allows your child to explore their own creativity and imagination and we are here to facilitate this process.

• Snacks included
  At Providence Children’s Academy, we believe that a full stomach allows for a full mind. Children struggle to concentrate when they are hungry, and so, to ensure that both you and your child are receiving the most out of after-school care, we provide snacks. All snacks are specifically chosen by a dietician to be healthy, but also delicious. We ensure that all allergen-containing foods are well labeled. We do request that parents let us know of any dietary requirements or restrictions that their child might have.

• One-on-one communication with parents
  Lastly, we believe in open communication – daily communication with teachers and parents is easy via our web or cell phone app. We also have one-on-one sessions with parents to discuss the development of their child and report back on their progress. This is also available to parents who would like to ask questions or voice concerns that they might have with regards to their child’s development.
